You need to be cautious in determining what to include in the label. Remember these tips as you start designing the labels to ensure quality and appeal.
Keep it simple
Designing the label does not mean you should overwhelm it with colours and images. You need to highlight the name of the product and logo of your company. You can add other elements to increase the appeal, but not to the point that consumers will feel confused about what they are looking at. You can move the less substantial information to the back.
Be careful in using colours
A colourful product label grabs attention. It can also turn people away. You need to use your brand colour if you have one. You also need to avoid using too many colours in one product label. Perhaps, you can use different colours to identify flavours or distinguish one product from the other. You also need to be consistent. For instance, people know banana as yellow. Do not use a red label when the product has a banana flavour, as it could be confusing.

Do not use generic fonts since people will think that you did not put any effort into creating the label. Come up with a font that people can associate with your brand. Be consistent in using fonts. If possible, you can limit the font styles to just two. You can have one for the product name and another one for everything else to avoid confusion. There are laws on what you need to include on labels, especially if you are selling food products. The list of ingredients and nutritional information need to be on the labels; otherwise, your products cannot be in the market. If you are selling products other than food, you need to know what the law states regarding labels.
